I have created this blog as my outlet to explore two of my passions: healthy recipes, and recipes that celebrate Canadian history and culture. From the ingredients we can find on the forest floor, in the oceans and on the plains, to the recipes that we’ve come to call our own through our long history of immigration; I love exploring what makes Canada so delicious.
I endeavour to include recipes that are wholesome and nourishing for the body, but I do not follow any fad diets. I do my best to note when something is gluten free, vegan, refined sugar free, etc., but you should read my recipes carefully if you follow a particular diet. I focus on a holistic approach to food, ensuring that most of my meals are contributing positively to my body and my overall health in some way. However, life is about balance, so I also have a Lifestyle section where I share my experiences dealing with different issues like grocery budgeting, managing a sweet tooth, or staying healthy while traveling!
I have experienced a rather rocky relationship with my health in the past, and I’ve really appreciated learning from others because they’ve been brave enough to share their experiences (and recipes) with the community-at-large online. So, I hope my blog can help you along your journey too. Enjoy!
